Socialisation
In basic training you and your dog will learn how to sit, down, stay, recall and heel.
Training incorporates games to encourage you both to find the training fun.
The training includes the following:
- Focus – getting your puppy/dog to look at you ready to learn and engage with you.
- Name recognition
- Having a harness and lead put on and remain calm
- Recall – getting your puppy/dog to come to you whenever you call from anywhere
- Basic obedience – sits, downs, stays
- Not to jump up on people – especially older adults and small children
- Good manners – taking food gently from your hand, not nibbling or scratching for attention
- Getting used to be handled
- No mouthing or nipping on your hands or feet or clothes
- Used to different sounds and smells
- Loose lead walking – no pulling
- Playing with toys and learning to retrieve
